Code a Drone

Want to Learn Coding? Use a Tello drone to code and fly a mission. Second year dronies learn this in our Operations/Missions courses.

OUR PILOTS census marine habitats using either fixed wing or commercial multi rotor drones (small Unmanned Aerial Systems) and produce GIS data and maps for our clients for example an orchard slated for development into a pubic school.OUR PILOTS flew over a nearby 20 acre blueberry orchard creating a topographic map for managing their farm that lies within the floodplain and also feeds into their riparian management plan.OUR PILOTS are in a curriculum that moves them toward the possibility of monitoring whales with their drones and are applying to deploy their drones from onboard research vessels.OUR PILOTS are mapping coastal wetlands, shown here is a shoreline delineation of a marsh in the summer from which a marsh delineation can be made and the wetland more effectively managed.OUR PILOTS presenting results of mapping efforts in a public hearing where pilots get to present results on a regular basis.OUR PILOTS fly producing highly detailed maps called photomosaics that are created from hundreds of low altitude, slow moving drone photos compiled into a highly detailed photograph which is very useful for building site management.

OUR PILOTS use workhorse drones such as the DJI Phantom. They are inexpensive and bristling with capability in flight and photographic ability for most jobs that we do.

One of our fixed wing drones is an eBeeSQ. We are also looking at an Aeromapper Talon since it lands on the water.
